The experience to travel and work abroad, will be an enriching basis for the rest of your life.

“Before making a commitment, it is important to clarify your motives. You may be drawn to voluntary service by a desire to help impoverished people. You may be interested in learning about another culture and society. You may wish to be part of a process of positive social change. Or you may wish to gain experience which will help you find employment. Each of these motivations will direct you to distinct options for voluntary service.”

We have many years of experience organizing not only volunteer programs but also all the other services you might need to make the most out of your stay, such as accommodation, Spanish classes, excursions, airport transfers. Everything will be organized and taken care of up to the tiniest detail so that you can be worry free as you set sail for your trip!

Volunteering is a great opportunity to use the Spanish you have learned during your classes in a practical setting, and to interact more closely with south american people.

Some options:

Orphanage: Many of the orphans have come from homes of domestic violence; many of them don't have relatives. Poverty now days leaves many children abandoned. Orphanages in Peru provide orphans with daily meals, a bed and schooling, but they need people to give them attention, time and love. The work will be very varied and creative - involving teaching, playing with the children, running many types of craft activities, administration, sports, teaching English, teaching what you know. The program is developed in the afternoons while Spanish lessons are taken in the mornings.

Dogs and cats shelter: Volunteering involves more than playing with puppies: You might be lucky enough to socialize and supervise puppies and kittens, but most animal shelters or rescues need volunteers to walk or run the big dogs, scoop the cat boxes, pick up poop, mop floors and spraying down a kennel full of diarrhea. Dogs and cats often end up in rescues after living in bad situations. Sometimes people unintentionally hurt their animals by keeping them confined to one room or a garage 24 hours a day. Other dogs are homeless, sick or injured for unknown reasons and some have been beaten or abused in other ways. If you volunteer at a dog shelter, you will be exposed to many happy and sad situations involving dogs.

Being a volunteer must be a decision that comes from the heart.
